Given the Internet’s increasing capacity for wrecking our brains and attention spans, a lot of people have started reading blogs using tools like Readability that download web pages to your Kindle or other e-reading device. If your goal is deep focus, avoiding the cavalcade of distractions that social media and the like foist on you, reading blogs and articles on your e-reader is one of the best ways to achieve this. I myself have started downloading longer articles to my Kindle so I can read them later, or read them when I’m offline or on the go (say, on the subway or train). But of course, if you go this route, you need to individually download every article you read, which can be something of a pain, and formatting will sometimes be screwed up.

If you want my blog posts downloaded to your Kindle automatically, you can now subscribe to my blog on Amazon.

It’s pretty simple: when you sign up, you’ll automatically receive every article or post I publish, downloaded to your Kindle without any work on your part. It’s not free, unfortunately: Amazon forces all Kindle blog publishers to charge $0.99 a month for subscriptions. However, there is a 14-day free trial if you sign up, letting you determine whether you like the service or not.

I don’t expect to get rich off of Kindle subscriptions. I’m providing these subscriptions as a service for readers who want to read my blog posts in a state of deep focus without being distracted by the constant idiocy of the modern Internet. If you want my articles downloaded to your Kindle without having to use Readability or having to do any work, signing up for an Amazon subscription is the easiest way to do this.
