I Will Be Attending the West Coast Premiere of The Red Pill

A couple of weeks ago, I announced that I was raising money to go to St. Louis to cover protests outside the second presidential debate on October 9. Due to a sudden emergency in my personal life, I won’t be able to make the trip. I apologize to all of my readers, viewers and donors, but there’s simply no way I can do the trip with what I’m dealing with.

As I promised when I announced the trip, I will refund any donor who contributed to the fundraiser (Sep. 21-28) on request. I’ve already contacted several donors; if I don’t get to you in the next couple of days, email me.

However, I do have some good news. Thanks to one of my readers generously donating a round-trip plane ticket with his spare frequent flyer miles, I will be in Los Angeles next weekend (Oct. 14-16) to attend the West Coast premiere of Cassie Jaye’s and Mike Cernovich’s documentary The Red Pill.

The Red Pill is a film about the men’s rights’ movement and the manosphere at large, which became infamous last year when Jaye—despite her feminist beliefs—found herself on the skids with leftists because she intended to make an honest movie. When her funding was pulled due to her unwillingness to make an anti-MRA hit job, Cernovich stepped in and helped push her Kickstarter past the finish line.

I’m not a fan of the mens’ rights movement—indeed, there’s no love lost between me and the featured MRAs in The Red Pill—but given the film’s importance and my central role in shaping the manosphere, I’m being derelict if I don’t check it out and write a review. Additionally, given that feminists flipped out over the movie when Jaye announced it, there will almost certainly be protests against it. In fact, when I announced I would be going to L.A. on Twitter, some clown threatened to organize a posse to hunt me down; likely an empty threat, but I wouldn’t put it past the left to try and get me.

The Red Pill is officially debuting in New York City tomorrow, while the West Coast premiere will be on October 14 at the Laemmle Noho 7 Theater in L.A. Tickets for the latter go on sale on Tuesday. While I’m in SoCal, I’ll try to organize a meetup for my readers, though I might be too busy working.

Hope to see you there!
